The Adirondack Park is one of New York State鈥檚 most extraordinary assets. Larger than Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, and the Grand Canyon National Parks combined, it encompasses six million acres of public and private land. It is a park for all New Yorkers to enjoy and a magnet for out-of-state and international visitors, drawing ten to twelve million tourists annually.

Chances are, if you鈥檝e been near an Adirondack lake recently, you鈥檝e seen people in sky-blue vests set up near the water鈥檚 edge. They are Adirondack Watershed Institute stewards, and their mission is to prevent invasive species from entering waterways.

Chef Robert Dumas, Director of the Institute of Adventure Hospitality and Food, recently joined the ADK Talks podcast to discuss how the college is preparing students for careers in culinary arts and hospitality through hands-on learning in the Adirondacks.
